Description from the seller
Vintage EMO trumpet, model "professional", is a flagship instrument produced in the 1950s and 1960s. It is characterized by a balanced weight and a wonderfully clear, expressive sound. The instrument has undergone a full professional service, is mechanically sound, all moving parts operate correctly, and it emits a clear tone with ease of playing. Included are a new contemporary carbon fiber case, two highly regarded mouthpieces for pop entertainment and classical/repertoire playing, and a sheet music stand dedicated to the instrument. The EMO Professional trumpet is a unique, sought-after brass instrument by collectors. It was manufactured in Germany in the 1950s and 1960s by the Ernst Mödl (EMO) workshop. The most interesting anecdote about this brand is that Louis Armstrong himself played an EMO trumpet and, impressed by its sound, wrote a letter to Ernst Mödl in which he called it “the best trumpet he had ever played in his life.” These instruments are now regarded as rare and hold significant historical value for jazz enthusiasts and vintage brass instrument fans. The Emo workshop ceased producing instruments in 1973 after the founder’s death. Today the Emo name is mainly known for producing respected accessories, such as mutes for trumpets and trombones.
