Description from the seller
Rabarama (Paola Epifani) — "Trans-Genico", 2001
Oil on canvas | 100 × 83 cm
A striking original painting by celebrated Italian contemporary artist Rabarama (pseudonym of Paola Epifani, b. 1969, Rome), one of Italy's most internationally recognized figures in contemporary art whose monumental sculptures have been exhibited in Paris, Shanghai, Miami, Florence, and Cannes.
This work, titled "Trans-Genico", was painted in 2001 — a pivotal period in the artist's career, coinciding with her solo exhibition "Trans-formation" at the prestigious Galerie Enrico Navarra in Paris. The canvas depicts a curled, introspective human figure whose skin is entirely covered in interlocking puzzle-piece patterns rendered in cool blues, greens, and soft earth tones against a deep black background — a hallmark of Rabarama's iconic visual language exploring identity, metamorphosis, and the complexity of the human condition.
The reverse of the canvas bears the artist's handwritten inscription:
"Olio su tela / 'Trans-Genico' / Rabarama 2001 / Opera unica autentica"
("Oil on canvas / unique and authentic work") — along with the artist's personal signature and seal.
Label on reverse: MG07053C | QD 11000 | 100 × 83
Medium: Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 100 × 83 cm
Year: 2001
Framed: Yes, wooden floater frame
Authenticity: Hand-signed and certified "opera unica autentica" (unique authentic work) by the artist on verso
An exceptional opportunity to acquire a museum-quality work from one of Italy's most collectible contemporary artists.
