Italian Art Deco solid 800 silver desk set, 6 pieces, dating to 2 June 1927, in excellent condition with original box.
Description from the seller
Splendid and complete desk service from an Art Deco era, dated precisely June 2, 1927, thanks to the original card kept inside, handwritten by the parents on the occasion of a first communion and confirmation. The set is made of solid 800 silver; the "800" hallmark is clearly visible and stamped on the blotter (as in the photo). The other elements, although part of the same contemporaneous set, do not show visible hallmarks to the naked eye. It is housed in its original era box with a fabric-lined interior shaped and protected. The set comprises 5 coordinated pieces:
- Monobloc inkwell with octagonal base engraved with the date 2 June 1927,
- Blotter (absorbent paper pad),
- Seal for sealing wax with initials engraved from the period at the base,
- Finely worked letter opener (paper knife),
- Nib holder (nib-dispensing tube).
Total weight of the objects 293 grams (including the letter opener which has a metal blade as was typical at the time. Box excluded from the weight).
Excellent antique condition, beautiful patina of time, no parts missing, a high‑level collectible item.
