The face of Eura is a famous graphic work by Dino Buzzati, protagonist of his experimental work "Poema a fumetti"
It represents the face of Eura—the reincarnation of Eurydice—characterized in a surreal way by four dreaming eyes arranged on two superimposed rows
The work: Poema a fumetti (1969) is considered one of the very first Italian graphic novels. It reinterprets the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice in a modern key, transporting it to Milan in the 1960s
The face: Buzzati draws Eura with four eyes to symbolize the duplicity of the character's nature, suspended between the earthly world and the Underworld (the realm of the afterlife)
The muse: The ethereal face of Eura was strongly inspired by the author's wife, Almerina Antoniazzi
The frame and the mat are to be considered a tribute
