Description from the seller
Sofia Sanchez and Mauro Mongiello met in 1997 in Buenos Aires. Because they both share a great passion for photography, they quickly discovered that their collaboration could yield something special. Their joint work soon took shape into a body of work characterized by creativity, a pronounced cinematographic quality, and a strong affinity with fashion.
In 2001 they moved to Paris, where they won the Picto Prize for young fashion photographers and held an exhibition at the Palais de Tokyo. Their career was subsequently given a major boost with exhibitions at prestigious venues such as the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin.
Sofia and Mauro worked for numerous international brands in the fashion, jewelry, and lifestyle worlds, including Louis Vuitton, Dior, Givenchy, Armani, Lanvin, Missoni, Escada, Ungaro, Loewe, L’Oréal, Coca-Cola, Hublot, Eres, Chantal Thomass, Swarovski, Boucheron, Petit Bateau, Piper-Heidsieck, McDonald’s, Paco Rabanne, Louboutin, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, Chopard and Air France.
Their work is included in various books, including Babeth (Steidl), Unbridled – The Marriage of Tradition and Avant-garde by Swarovski and Fashion Eye Buenos Aires for Louis Vuitton. Since 2001, their images have regularly appeared in international magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Numéro France, Elle, Flair, Ten, The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, Esquire, and Vanity Fair.
