Important artistic vase in satin white glass with hot-fused appliques – Italy, circa 1960-1980

The work is made in precious satin white glass (acid-etched) of high quality, featuring an elegant truncated-conical open shape with minimal and modern lines.

The surface is enriched by numerous circular transparent glass appliques fused hot directly onto the body of the vase. Each element was applied individually and subsequently hand-shaped during the working of the incandescent glass. The light traces of processing visible on the appliques constitute authentic evidence of the craftsmanship and execution mastery typical of Murano furnaces.


The important thickness of the glass, the heavy bottom of about 3 cm and the considerable weight of about 1.8 kg emphasize a high-level creation, carried out with particular attention to material quality and to the perfection of the finishes.

For aesthetic conception, technical execution, glass quality and type of decorative appliques, the vase shows significant affinities with works attributed to Archimede Seguso and with the most prestigious Murano productions destined for the international market between the 1960s and 1980s.

The elegant contrast between the satin white glass and the transparent appliques creates a refined play of light, depth and matter, giving the work a strong decorative presence and a notable collector value.

The vase presents itself in an extraordinary state of preservation, very close to new.

There are exclusively two tiny and almost imperceptible superficial scratches on the sides, visible only on very careful and close inspection. At the corresponding micro-scratches there is a very slight loss of satin finish, absolutely negligible and practically invisible during normal display of the piece.

The marks are so reduced as to in no way affect the overall aesthetics of the vase and are mentioned solely for descriptive completeness.

No cracks.

Overall, a magnificently preserved exemplar, particularly difficult to find in such excellent condition.
