Kuno Schiefer (Stuttgart, 1948 – São José dos Campos, 1992) was a German painter and graphic artist who spent most of his life working in Brazil. His oeuvre includes paintings, drawings and graphics, with his Brazilian period being particularly characterized by influences from tropical nature and the landscape. His work was noticed early and exhibited in important galleries in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. From 1985 he alternated working in Brazil and Berlin, which had a significant influence on his artistic development.
In his work Schiefer developed from figurative representations of everyday objects to expressive, often abstract interpretations of vegetation and nature. His paintings are characterized by intense colors, a strong sense of light and an almost musical rhythm in composition and brushwork. Through the interaction between Europe and Brazil, a personal visual language emerged, in which he gradually detached himself from figuration and arrived at a more introspective and free painterly approach.
Viewing is of course possible. In addition we have our own in-house framemaking workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary year. Furthermore we utilize restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to use this service, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
