Description from the seller

Unusual and rare petrol lighter in the form of a circular brass medallion, circa 1918–1922. One face displays a winged allegorical figure of Victory, consistent with the design of the French Inter-Allied Victory Medal (“Médaille Interalliée de la Victoire 1914–1918”), established on 20 July 1922. The reverse shows a helmeted bust — likely Marianne or Minerva — with the inscription “ANVERS” visible, referencing the Fall of Antwerp (October 1914), a key early event of the war. The lighter mechanism consists of a central wick tube and separate flint striker, both present.

This type of coin or medal-incorporated lighter was produced as patriotic keepsakes in the immediate post-war period, combining functional objects with commemoration of the Allied victory. An extremely uncommon form.

Condition: Strong patina. Mechanism present, flint striker detached but included. One small component loose
