Description from the seller
Large-size oil painting on canvas from a collection.

Title: Scarlet Gaze
Dimensions: 70x70 cm
Year: 2025
Mara Solène (born 1982) is a painter who primarily works with oil painting. Her research explores the human figure as a space of relation between identity, presence, and perception. Her works feature figures suspended between reality and imagination, with simplified forms and faces that move away from realistic portraiture to become expressive tools. At the center of her work is the relationship between the figures: the gaze, the distance, and the silent tension that builds within the painting’s space. Her practice moves between figuration and distortion, in an essential search where identity remains open and in continuous transformation.
Note: The work will be shipped in a sturdy tube suitable for shipping. The colors of the painting may differ slightly from the photos due to screen settings. In person, the artworks are more beautiful than in photographs: one can appreciate the hypnotic beauty of the oil colors coming to life on the canvas.
Worldwide shipping via UPS courier.
