AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful etching by Walter Valentini, extremely limited edition:
Edition 45 + XV + 8 p.a.
Printer Sardella - Milan.
Editor Dino Tamburini - Trieste.
handmade paper Colombe.

Walter Valentini (Pergola, October 22, 1928 – Milan, May 20, 2022) was an Italian painter, sculptor and printmaker, internationally recognized in the field of graphics and engraving.
Beyond space (whether interior, architectural or celestial, as it may be) Valentini also investigates the concept of time. Time does not flow only forward: its rhythm arises from the dialogue between present and past, between dream and memory. Matter has its own history, which can be excavated and investigated archaeologically, but the recovery of the past can occur only in a fragmentary way. For this reason in Valentini’s plates there are successive crushed surfaces and scraps of matter: the wooden support represents the earth, while the excavation that brings to light the various geological layers symbolizes the search for the past, memory.
