Description from the seller

Mid-Century WMF Ikora Brass Cigar Cutter "Padlock" – DBGM Patent (1950s)

Description:
Don't be fooled: this is not an antique padlock, although it looks the part! What you see here is a rare and ingenious piece of mid-century 'Tobacciana' design from the renowned German top brand WMF (Ikora line).

This mechanical desktop cigar cutter is disguised as a heavy brass padlock. The operation is as simple as it is brilliant: you insert the tip of your cigar into the 'keyhole' at the front, press the shackle down, and the razor-sharp Pfeilring Solingen blade on the inside makes a perfect V-cut. The hollow housing neatly catches the cut tobacco bits. Is the catch tray full? Then you slide out the richly decorated front plate to empty it—very cleverly.

On the back, equipped with the official turret logo and the German patent stamp: DBGM 1623984. An absolute 'must-have' for the cigar lover, the vintage design collector, or as the ultimate 'gentleman's' desk accessory. It’s far cooler than anything else you could use for cutting a good cigar!
