Description from the seller
Anubis is the Greek name of the god of death, mummification, embalming, the afterlife, cemeteries, tombs and the Inferi, in ancient Egyptian religion, usually depicted as a dog or a man with a canine head. Anubis has assumed different roles in various contexts. Portrayed as a tomb protector already in the first dynasty (circa 3100 – 2890 BC), Anubis was also an embalmer. One of his main roles was that of a god who ushered souls into the afterlife. He assisted at the Scales of Ma'at during the "Weighing of the Heart," where it was determined whether a soul would be allowed to enter the realm of the dead. Ra is the ancient Egyptian sun god. By the fifth dynasty in the 25th and 24th centuries BC, he had become one of the most important deities in ancient Egyptian religion, identified mainly with the noonday sun. It was believed that Ra ruled all parts of the created world: the sky, the Earth and the underworld; he was the god of the sun, order, kingship and heaven. Ra was depicted as a falcon and shared characteristics with the sky god. It was believed that all forms of life were created by Ra. In some accounts, humans were created from the tears and sweat of Ra; in the myth of the Celestial Cow, it is told how humanity conspired against Ra and how he sent his eye as the goddess Sekhmet to punish them.
