Josep Meneses Tapias (born in 1930) is a Spanish painter known for his vibrant and impressionistic landscapes and urban scenes. Born in Barcelona, he studied art at the prestigious Escola de la Llotja. Later he settled in Mallorca, where the luminous surroundings and the island’s natural beauty significantly influenced his artistic development.

Meneses Tapias’s work is distinguished by a rich color palette and expressive brushwork, often depicting Mediterranean landscapes and bustling markets. A notable example is his 1959 oil painting “Mercado de Plainpalais,” which captures the lively atmosphere of the famous market square in Geneva.
