Like the plates, graphic works are not smooth surfaces: with a refined dry intaglio technique, Valentini presses the paper so that the drawing remains raised relative to the plane. The subjects of these engravings are the same as those of the plates; only the technique varies: one goes from aquatint to etching, to drypoint, or all three together.

The choice of paper is fundamental: the early graphic works are made on Magnani paper from Pescia and on Fabriano paper,
