Expressive, time-typical work of the abstract post-war modernism from 1956. The painting captivates with a strongly structured, thickly textured surface in finely nuanced blue, gray, and beige tones with pointed red and orange accents.

Artist: Ursula Graeff-Hirsch (born 1929) - hand-signed bottom right with “Hirsch 56”
Year: 1956
Technique: oil / mixed media on canvas (stretched on a frame)
Dimensions: Width 76 cm × Height 65 cm (sight size including frame)
Condition: Good, age-appropriate condition with fine, authentic craquelure formation.
Excellent provenance & features:
The work is housed in its beautiful, artist-studio perfectly coordinated original frame by the renowned framing studio Dieter and Katja LASKE (Cologne) with the handwritten designation “Steinpatina - Unikattönung zum Bild”.
On the back there is also a historic gallery label from the venerable art dealership Boisserée (Cologne, Am Museum, founded 1838) as well as a handwritten address (“Essen, Tulpenweg”). A true piece of Rhineland art history with an unbroken provenance.
