Desk set - Wood, Lacquer, Gilding

mail rack or desk document holder, very popular at the beginning of the 20th century, a desk accessory for holding business cards, letters, or documents.
In black lacquered wood with gold powders and colored pigments, it is in excellent condition.
The holes at the top were used to hang it on the wall or to attach it to a desk structure.
The scene clearly shows:
* stylized ō-yoroi samurai armor
* close combat
* war banners (nobori)
* mounted knight
From the lacquer style and the quality of the drawing it can be dated to the early 20th century. It measures 23 cm in height, 16.5 cm in width, 3 cm in thickness, and 147 g in weight.
Important note (see the last two photos) it bears two seals on the side.
