In this stolen shot, Claudio Montecucco translates the language of French-influenced street photography onto an inanimate object, giving it a silent biography. An old doll, seated among market stalls, becomes the protagonist of a scene of "suspended everyday life": no longer a toy, but a witness of time, whose face, marked by a lived experience, is transformed by the photographer's strict black-and-white into tactile poetry. An authentic, spontaneous work, away from posing, that elevates urban detail to an icon of memory. A unique piece, destined for collections that seek the encounter between street realism and the emotion of a relic.
Claudio Montecucco tells his project by resorting to the words of Robert Doisneau:
"What I was trying to show was a world where I would feel good, where people would be kind, where I would find the tenderness I hoped to receive. My photos were like proof that this world can exist."
