Description from the seller
Detailed Description
The Work:
We present a magnificent and hypnotizing original silkscreen by the renowned American artist David Haidle, entitled "Butterfly Matrix I", executed in 1980.
The composition (visible in image image_15.png) is a perfect example of the artist's technical virtuosity, who combines with exquisite finesse the organic, detailed realism of a butterfly with an inferior geometric and abstract pattern, evoking a technological or Op Art design "matrix".
Notable is the exceptional use of smooth color gradients ranging from deep brown to warm tones of ochre and gold, lending a mystical and sophisticated atmosphere to the piece. A work highly representative of early 80s design and graphic avant-garde.
Exclusive Edition A/P (Artist's Proof):
This piece has added value for collectors as it is an A/P (Artist's Proof / Prova d'Artista), hand-marked in the lower left corner. Artist's proofs are traditionally reserved for the artist's personal use or for special archives before the release of the commercially numbered edition, and are much rarer in the art market.
The work is properly titled at center ("Butterfly Matrix I"), signed and dated ("David Haidle '80") in pencil by the artist himself on the lower margin.
