For sale: an original and authentic artwork by the Dutch artist Anton Heyboer.

This work was personally handed to me by Anton Heyboer in 1994 during a visit to his residence and studio in De Ilp. During this special visit I had the opportunity to interview him for an article that was later published in De Stijl, the magazine of HICO. The original article is still in my possession and constitutes valuable documentation of the provenance of this work.

The artwork is executed in an expressive mixed technique with pastel, chalk, and charcoal-like line drawing on paper. The composition shows a powerful, intuitive figuration that is characteristic of Heyboer’s free and spontaneous approach. The vivid colors, dynamic contours, and direct imagery reflect the artistic freedom for which Heyboer became internationally known.

With dimensions of about 35 x 40 cm the work has an intimate character, while at the same time it has a strong visual presence. At the bottom of the work there is the artist’s signature, which further supports the authenticity.

What makes this artwork special is not only the artistic quality, but above all the direct provenance. The work comes directly from Anton Heyboer himself and has remained in the same collection since then. Such works with documented and personal provenance are rare and highly valued by collectors.
