OPERA

The series “Equilibrio” arises from research on the relationship between sign, color and space within the canvas. Each work is an attempt to find a balance between solids and voids, density and breath, weight and lightness. My sign enters into dialogue with broader, quieter color fields: from this encounter a balance is born that is not perfect or geometric, but fragile, alive, always in tension.

In “Equilibrio.02” the large circle becomes the main field of the work: a wide shape, suspended, crossed by the black mark in the upper part and left freer in the lower part. At the center, the blue circle creates a point of calm and concentration, while the light blue background lightens the entire composition. The yellow in the top left, although occupying only a small part, has a very strong visual weight: it is warm, bright, present. Compared with the blue, cooler and lighter, the yellow shifts the balance of the canvas and introduces a decisive tension. In this sense, the work lives exactly in the relationship between different forces: black as density, white as breath, blue as calm and yellow as energy.

ARTISTA

I am Pietro Fight, Italian visual artist, born in 1992, based in Milan. My research falls within gestural abstraction, a line of abstract art developed especially after World War II, in which the sign becomes an autonomous visual language: it does not describe recognizable figures, but builds rhythm, density, tension and breath within the work. My work stems from a writing of gesture made of circular modules and grids of signs, with which I seek balance between fills and empties, accumulation and suspension, intensity of the sign and zones of visual silence. I work on canvas with different techniques, layering glazes and markings to bring chromatic fields and the black sign into dialogue; I am interested in both a tight black-and-white, and the use of sharp chromatic contrasts.

This language of mine was born in 2020, during the Covid period, when I transformed the boredom of daily routine into a process made of repetition, rhythm and small variations. From that period also derives the signature “Corona,” a direct trace of that time (coronavirus). The sign I trace is instantaneous and records the mechanics of my mind: even when it appears serial, it varies according to mood and the inner “noise” of the moment. For this reason, even within a repeated grammar, every trace is different and every work remains irrepeatable.

IMPORTANT: for safety reasons and to reduce shipping costs, the canvas will be sent rolled in a rigid tube (no frame). The shipment will be traceable; once received, the work can be framed by a framer.
There is an unpainted margin on the canvas to facilitate framing. Unique and original work, signed on the back, accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist (with personalized stamp).
