Description from the seller
An extraordinary and iconic work by Mario Schifano (1934–1998), one of the absolute pioneers of European Pop Art and the Piazza del Popolo School. This piece belongs to his famous and highly sought-after series of "Tele/Foto Computerizzate", hand-retouched photographs taken from television screens. Schifano isolates a transient media image, transforming an ephemeral television broadcast into a lyrical and permanent artistic statement through dynamic and energetic marks of colored enamel. A conceptually impactful work, worthy of a museum, that perfectly reflects Schifano's obsession with contemporary media and visual flows. Its high liquidity and strong demand from collectors make it a top-tier addition to any modern art collection. The work is archived at the Archive of Mario Schifano's works cataloged at the M.S. Multistudio Foundation from 1985 to 1997, volume V° and published on page 1234, reference F9097-2364 and in the Telemarket catalog on page 345, of which a color photocopy will be provided. The Foundation documents and catalog publication photos are attached. The lot will be adequately packed and shipped with contracted couriers and online tracking. For this lot, shipments outside the European Community are not made.
