Description:
In an era-appropriate Japanese tavern illuminated by red lanterns and warm lights, the incredibly fast Sonic the Hedgehog sits at the table with a satisfied smile. With chopsticks in hand, he is savoring a piece of salmon nigiri, while in front of him a tray full of fresh sushi emits inviting steam among sake and traditionally minded human customers.
The image humorously and warmly blends Sonic’s frenetic world with the ritual pace of Japanese cuisine, celebrating the simple pleasure of food and the playful meeting between Western pop culture and Eastern tradition. A moment of pure hedonistic happiness.

Creative process:
The work was created through an innovative hybrid process: an initial draft was generated with sophisticated artificial intelligence, subsequently interpreted and completely hand-colored by the artist via professional software on an iPad. In the final stage, a dedicated filter was applied to enhance the Neo Ukiyo-e style, giving the illustration sharp lines, strong contrasts, and the graphic elegance typical of contemporary Japanese tradition.

Packaging and Shipping:
Each print is personally packed by the artist in their own studio. The packaging is highly protected as the print is shipped flat (not rolled) precisely to preserve the stiff fibers of the 300-gram paper and maintain the beauty of the print intact.

The Artist – Raiden:
Raiden, born in 2003, is a young Italian artist from the SSICK LAB collective. His stage name is inspired by Raiden, the famous character from the Mortal Kombat video game. His artistic research focuses on the fusion between contemporary Neo Ukiyo-e Japanese style and the imagery of Western pop culture, giving rise to works with strong visual impact, dynamic compositions, and a powerful, cinematic aesthetic.
