Joan Miró, Umbracle, a hand-signed lithograph from 1973 in a limited Hors Commerce edition (HC), 88 × 70 cm, printed on Arches paper and professionally framed.
Description from the seller
This exceptional hand-signed lithograph by Joan Miró, created in 1973 as a design for the film “Umbracle,” ranks among the sought-after graphic works from the artist’s mature period.
The lithograph is hand-signed in pencil by Joan Miró in the lower right corner.
In the lower left, the sheet bears the designation “H.C.” (Hors Commerce).
This is one of the copies that were reserved outside the regular edition for the artist and the publisher and today counts among the rarest and most coveted issues. Printed on high-quality Arches paper.
With its bold black lines, vivid primary colors, and the characteristic organic forms, the work powerfully embodies Miró’s unmistakable visual language—between Surrealism, poetry, and spontaneous gesture.
The work was issued by Sala Gaspar, Barcelona and bears the corresponding watermark.
The lithograph is fully documented and listed in Patrick Cramer’s Catalogue Raisonné under the work number 922, and in the Dupin Catalogue Raisonné under No. 922.
The artwork is professionally and very finely framed in an exclusive, handmade wooden frame with Plexiglas Optical HC, which is scratch-resistant and UV-protective. This high-quality framing provides exceptional color depth, clear viewing, and brilliant light transmission, giving the piece an elegant and muse-like presentation.
