Original 2026 acrylic on canvas titled 'Impro' by A. Asencio, a unique vertical work measuring 90 x 70 cm, signed by hand on the back and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Spain, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
The work "Impro" is part of a series of pictorial studies titled "Rhythms," which brings together paintings that explore movement, music, and the body as spaces of expression and freedom. Color occupies a central place within the painting practice, through a vibrant palette and intense chromatic contrasts; the figures detach from any narrative context to focus on the energy of the gesture, where color acts as an extension of rhythm and emotion.
"Impro" centers on a figure suspended in the midst of playing an instrument and seems to merge with the rhythm it produces. The intense red background amplifies the sense of energy and makes movement the true protagonist of the composition. The simplified forms and vibrant colors shift the attention from detail to the physical and emotional experience of music.
The work seeks to capture that moment when the body stops executing and begins to fully inhabit the sound, transforming action into an experience of freedom and presence.

About the artist: I am especially interested in creating compositions that offer the viewer a point of view with which they can identify. Whether through discomfort, serenity, or contemplation, my aim is to generate a space for reflection and questioning. At the painting level, I am drawn to vibrant colors, pronounced saturations, and fresh chromatic ranges. I find a rich source of inspiration in observing our social-natural surroundings—in music, dance, in the feminine universe and its multiple dimensions—approaching it from a personal, sensitive, and introspective perspective.
