The Resignation — Watergate, August 8, 1974 by LeYack is a 40 × 40 cm hand-signed giclée on canvas, a limited edition of 20, produced in France and sold direct from the artist with a certificate of authenticity, ready to be framed.
Description from the seller
In a paneled living room in Middle America, a young woman sits on the floor, knees pulled to her chest, silently watching the gray face of Richard Nixon on the screen of a cathode-ray TV. The American flag is nailed to the wall, the taxidermied gazelle head watches from its badge, a bottle of Dewar's sits on the buffet. Jazz records lie on the carpet like remnants of another era, more innocent. It is August 8, 1974, and an entire country holds its breath as its president announces his resignation. The bluish light from the television sculpts the profile of this anonymous spectator who could be the conscience of an entire generation — one that believed, doubted, and ultimately knew. A powerful work in which America watches itself fall.
