Technique: Etching on Fabriano Rosaspina paper
Sheet dimensions: 24 × 19 cm
Plate / image dimensions: 19 × 9 cm
Year: 1985
Edition: Artist's proof (p.a.), unique copy outside the regular edition
Signature and inscriptions: Signed in pencil by the artist with autograph dedication «p.a. Per Luciano Bongiovanni» and dated 1985
Provenance: Private collection of Corrado Bongiovanni, son of master printer Luciano Bongiovanni, who worked at Grafica Eletta GE Arte in Chiaravalle (AN) as a direct collaborator of the artist
Certificate of authenticity: Not present; direct provenance from the printing studio constitutes documentable guarantee
Documentation: Front and back photographs available
Condition: Good overall condition.
The sheet exhibits age-related wear, including scattered foxing and slight overall toning of the paper, more evident in the margins. Minor handling and storage traces are present, consistent with the age of the work.
The image, signature and inscriptions remain clear and well preserved. The condition issues described above do not significantly detract from the visual appreciation of the artwork.
This work belongs to the most mature and internationally acclaimed period of Enzo Cucchi, a leading figure of Italian Transavanguardia. The subject — an archaic organic form crossed by radiating marks, with a tiny human figure at its centre — is entirely characteristic of his visionary imagery from the 1980s, imbued with cosmic, mythological and rural symbols. The personal dedication to master printer Luciano Bongiovanni attests to a direct and affectionate bond between artist and craftsman, lending this artist's proof a rare documentary and biographical value.
Shipping: The work will be shipped in professional packaging specifically designed for graphic works, with insurance included.
Shipping costs: Italy €10 — Europe €15. No shipping outside Europe.
