Description from the seller
A0000005179
The pen is in excellent overall condition, presenting impeccable aesthetic appeal and full mechanical functionality after being thoroughly examined. It is a beautiful and highly coveted example of German manufacture Montblanc, belonging to the sophisticated and already discontinued Bohème collection in its exclusive "Lacquer Pearl" version (Factory reference 36009), characterized by combining high writing craftsmanship with details typical of fine jewelry.
[ THE LACQUER BODY AND THE GUILLOCHE FONT ]
The central body or barrel stands out for its refined craftsmanship, built on a metal base coated with white pearl lacquer with subtle iridescent glints that shift hue with light incidence. The entire lacquered surface features an intricate and clean three-dimensional guilloche engraving with a wave and concentric circle pattern perfectly executed, offering a visually striking and tactile texture. The lacquer retains its original luster intact, free of skips, cracks, or enamel loss, showing a smooth surface meticulously cared for.
[ THE STAUND-CLIP AND AKOYA PEARL ]
The metal and ornamental elements boast a sumptuous high-gloss gold plating, with a mirror-clear polish free of wear in friction areas. The front features the iconic arched clip in the shape of a stirrup, characteristic of the Bohème series, at the base of which is masterfully set a natural Akoya pearl in white nacre tone with perfect alignment and no surface imperfections. At the apex, the piece is crowned by the Montblanc six-pointed star emblem made in white resin on a flat black polished background.
[ MECHANICAL SECTION AND AUTHENTICITY DETAILS ]
Functionally, the instrument operates with a precise twist-action mechanism in the upper section, which moves smoothly, firmly, and without play for the extension and retraction of the nib. The triple gold-plated central ring presents magnificent relief engraving clarity, with the inscriptions clearly reading the brand name "MONTBLANC" and "BOHÈME". Additionally, the back of the clip preserves, with absolute cleanliness, the individual laser-engraved serial number and the origin inscription "GERMANY" that certify the piece's authenticity.
[ GENERAL LOT ASSESSMENT ]
Overall, this is a high-end contemporary design piece, very well preserved, breaking the sobriety of traditional black resin to offer an aristocratic aesthetic of great collectible value. It remains an excellent writing instrument or a solid investment due to its status as a discontinued boutique model, which increases its appeal in the luxury secondary market.
[ CONSERVATION RECOMMENDATIONS ]
To ensure optimal long-term maintenance of the piece, it is recommended to wipe the pearl lacquer surface and the gold-plated elements with a dry microfiber cloth after handling to avoid grease buildup or fingerprints. It is advised to use exclusively original Montblanc refills to guarantee smooth internal thread movement and to store the fountain pen inside its case when transporting it to prevent metal rubbing with other objects.
[ SHIPPING AND PACKAGING DETAILS ]
The lot will be shipped properly protected in its original Bohème presentation rigid case with black satin interior, accompanied by its corresponding printed booklet "Service Guide" and the outer black textured carton box that retains its factory label with the matching reference code 36009.
