Medsan's 60 × 40 cm giclée Neon Tokyo (ネオン東京) is a unique 1/1 work, signed by the artist, created in 2026, in excellent condition, in a pop art depiction of a neon-drenched Tokyo street with ukiyo-e motifs.
Description from the seller
THERE IS ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD - EDITION 1/1
With this landscape-format work, Medsan captures a suspended moment in a nocturnal Japanese street. A young man, a multicolored jacket and a dreamy gaze, crosses the wet pavement beneath a blaze of neon, while behind him the great images of the print dialogue: The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai on a panel, the portrait of a geisha (bijin-ga) and that of a warrior (musha-e) set in luminous frames. This single giclée brings together ancient Japan and the contemporary megacity.
The visual strength of the composition lies in its generous pictorial treatment, with vibrant impasto and an expressive touch, where each neon reflects in long colored trails on the wet asphalt. The electric palette of pinks, yellows, and deep blues gives the scene an almost cinematic intensity.
The impact of the work rests on its urban melancholy: the modern solitude of the passerby, surrounded by the glorious ghosts of classical Japanese art. It is ukiyo — the “floating world” — reinvented in the neon era, where the ephemeral beauty of the urban night echoes that of the prints of old.
An atmospheric, vibrant, and painterly piece, ideal for adding a urban, colorful, and decidedly contemporary touch to a design interior or a collector’s space.

About the Studio:
Atelier Joconde is a studio of artists gathered around a living and plural contemporary creation. Established as a true center of artistic production, the studio operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realist influences. By his side, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive inquiry, blending abstract art, outsider art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, produced, and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and a distinct identity for each artist.
