Description from the seller
ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD EXISTS - EDITION 1/1
With this vertical-format work, Medsan pays epic homage to the cult universe of Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin), by Hajime Isayama, blending it into the aesthetics of Japanese woodblock prints. A soldier of the Survey Corps, recognizable by the Wings of Freedom emblem, is kneeling, overwhelmed and scarred by battle on a devastated battlefield. Behind him stands a colossal Titan, rising from the clouds, with a glint in its gaze. A scarlet dawn, cherry blossom petals, and, on the ground, the 3D maneuver gear and a key complete the scene. This unique print bears the signature “メドサン” (Medsan) in a cartouche.
The visual force of the composition lies in its printmaking treatment: a twilight palette, a red sun evoking the flag of the Rising Sun (hinomaru) and clouds treated in the manner of Japanese engravings. The nerve of manga line work meets the solemn composition of ukiyo-e, while sakura petals introduce the sensibility of mono no aware, a poignant awareness of impermanence.
The impact of the work rests on its tragic and heroic dimension: the exhausted fighter, facing the crushing threat of Titans, embodies sacrifice, grief and resistance. Objects fallen to the ground — the broken blade, the key — tell the story without a word. A moving tribute to the struggle for freedom.
An epic, moving and graphic piece, ideal for adding a heroic, somber and decidedly contemporary touch to a collector’s interior — a favorite among manga and Japanese culture enthusiasts.

About the Atelier:
Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists united around a living, plural contemporary creation. Established as a genuine artistic production space, the studio operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. By his side, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive exploration, blending abstract art, art brut and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, made and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity unique to each artist.
