Barbara Kohl (Βοrn 1940) is a mixed-media artist whose work explores her identity as a Jewish woman. She places her subjects against ornate patterns inspired by historic textiles to symbolize the love and labor women have contributed to their communities. Through her depictions of brides from diverse heritages, Kohl celebrates both cultural legacy and continuity, honoring the lasting influence daughters and granddaughters will carry into the future.

Kohl's artwork can be found in private and public collections across the country, including the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Milwaukee Art Museum, among others. Her work has also been exhibited internationally at the United States Embassy in Prague, Czech Republic.
