Léon Fauché’s 19th‑Century oil painting Stilleven is an Impressionist still life of flowers, a cup and a bottle, measuring 46 × 55 cm with frame, hand‑signed, in good condition, from France and sold with frame by Galerie.
Description from the seller
This oil painting by the French artist Léon Fauché depicts a mood-filled still life with flowers, a cup, and a bottle of drink, carefully arranged on a table. With attention to color, light and composition, Fauché gives ordinary objects a special presence, causing the work to convey both calm and refinement.
Léon Fauché (1868–1950) was born in Briey, in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department, and studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Nancy. He then continued his studies in Paris with the renowned artists Aimé Morot and Chartran. Fauché was part of the vibrant French art scene around the turn of the century and exhibited, among others, at the Salon des Indépendants, where he came into contact with artists such as Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Louis Anquetin and Adrien Dethomas.
