Bernard Aubertin (1934-2015) was a French artist, known for his contribution to the red monochrome movement and for his association with the Zero movement, an avant-garde collective of artists that deeply influenced European contemporary art.

The work in question, "Tableau Clous," is dated 1960, one of the early years of his artistic production and certainly among the rarest and hardest to find on the market. Aubertin produced many works in the series Nails on Board, but those available on the international market produced in 1960 are all well kept in museums and private collections.
