Description from the seller
Original oil on canvas by Joan Cruspinera Muñoz (Tiana, Barcelona, 1945), a prominent figure in contemporary Catalan art, painter, draftsman, and printmaker with international experience.
Trained at the La Lonja School of Barcelona between 1960 and 1963, he broadened his engraving studies at the Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg and resid ed in Paris and London on a scholarship.

Work dated 1972, an early and very interesting period in the artist’s career, just before his international training phase in Salzburg and Paris.
Square composition measuring 73 × 73 cm with a strongly expressionist character that depicts the figure of a bullfighter viewed from above, wearing a straw hat and attire in reds and blacks.
Vigorous brushwork and densely impasto paint that convey movement, tension, and drama.
Palette of intense reds, deep blacks, and ochers with strong visual impact.
Signed by the artist in the lower left corner with a black brush.
Overall condition good.
There is a small area with deep craquelure and a pinpoint crack in the paint layer, which has been slightly repaired.
The back of the canvas shows some old moisture stains that do not affect the image.
With a wooden frame.
The work will be carefully protected and packaged, with the stretcher, ready to hang.
Collectors of expressionist painting, bullfighting themes, contemporary Catalan art, Joan Cruspinera, oil on canvas, 1970s.
