Biography of painter Nguyen Robert 1958.
Born in 1958 in Bên Tre, an authentic village nestled in the heart of the Mekong Delta, Nguyen Robert is a Franco-Vietnamese artist whose work is distinguished by a singular fusion of Asian traditions and Western artistic influences.
Having always lived in his native region, Nguyen Robert over the decades develops a profoundly contemporary, modern and decisively architectural style. His paintings explore structure, lines, urban rhythms, and geometric abstraction, while retaining a poetic sensibility intrinsic to Vietnamese culture.
His dual heritage, Franco-Vietnamese, enriches his approach: he borrows from the West the rigor of modern compositions and the boldness of contrasts, while his Vietnamese soul infuses softness, spirituality and fluidity into his works. The result is a pictorial universe where modernity meets timelessness, where geometry dialogues with light, creating paintings of great visual impact.
Renowned for his ability to transform everyday life into abstract landscapes, Nguyen Robert is today regarded as one of the singular voices of contemporary painting in the Mekong Delta. He continues his work in his studio in Bến Tre, surrounded by the landscapes that shaped his identity, and continues to exhibit in several galleries in Asia and Europe, captivating collectors and art lovers seeking deeply modern, structured and vibrant works.
