Frans Roymans (1937) - Abstract

Frans Roymans (Reusel 1937) is a Dutch sculptor. As an artist, Roijmans is self-taught. Since 1975 he has been working in his birthplace, the Brabant town of Reusel, as a sculptor. Initially the emphasis of his work lay on making ceramics. Gradually he evolved from a maker of ceramic products to a sculptor with an artistic body of work. From 1980 he, in addition to ceramic sculptures, also created bronze sculptures. Since 1995 he has worked exclusively in bronze. Together with his son Paul he created the bronze statue of Leontien van Moorsel, which was installed at the town hall in Boekel. Roijmans’s works can be found in the public space in several municipalities.
