Frans Roymans (1937) - Abstract

Frans Roijmans (Reusel 1937) is a Dutch sculptor. As an artist, Roijmans is self-taught. Since 1975 he has been active in his birthplace, the Brabant town of Reusel, as a visual artist/sculptor. Initially, the emphasis of his work lay on the creation of ceramics. Gradually he developed from a maker of ceramic products into a visual artist with an artistic oeuvre. From 1980 he, in addition to ceramic sculptures, also makes bronze sculptures. Since 1995 he has worked only in bronze. Together with his son Paul he made the bronze statue of Leontien van Moorsel, which was placed in front of the town hall in Boekel. Roijmans’ works can be found in public spaces in various municipalities. Here is a bronze abstract sculpture by his hand, placed on a natural stone pedestal.
