Description from the seller
Balloon hand-painted by the famous French street artist MIST
Guillaume Lemarquier, known as Mist, was born in Paris in 1972. He is an artist rooted in street art, more precisely in graffiti, which he discovered in 1988.
Very quickly he was recognized as one of the most talented and respected graffiti writers in the capital, and more broadly, he became one of the best designers of wild-style graffiti lettering in Europe. He left a mark on an entire generation from which what would become street art culture emerged.
His style and his collaborations with artists Tilt, Steph Cop, T.Kid, Bando… on numerous projects made him internationally recognized on the graffiti scene. He is one of the pioneers of the designer toy phenomenon, those small vinyl sculptures.
The strokes that construct the letters and the contours have faded away; it took more than ten years of studio work, giving way to an abstraction whose dynamism and spontaneity remain intact. His patinated backgrounds still reveal the scars of the walls of the wastelands he spent so much time on.
Gazing at a Mist painting is to lose yourself in an abstract composition of hypnotic power, blending urban art with the contemporary.
