Walter Valentini (Pergola, October 22, 1928 – Milan, May 20, 2022) was an Italian painter, sculptor, and engraver, internationally recognized in the field of graphic arts and printmaking.

He was a master of techniques such as etching, aquatint, drypoint, color lithography, and intaglio.
With a refined drypoint technique, Valentini presses the paper so that the drawing remains raised above the plane. The subjects of these engravings are the same as those of the plates; only the technique varies: from aquatint to etching to drypoint.

Walter Valentini (Pergola, 22 ottobre 1928 – Milano, 20 maggio 2022) è stato un pittore, scultore e incisore italiano, riconosciuto a livello internazionale nel campo della grafica e dell'incisione.

Era maestro di tecniche quali l'acquaforte, l'acquatinta, la puntasecca, la litografia a più colori, la calcografia.
Con una raffinata tecnica calcografica a secco, Valentini pressa la carta in modo che il disegno resti in rilievo rispetto al piano. I soggetti di queste incisioni sono gli stessi delle tavole, varia solo la tecnica: si va dall'acquatinta all'acquaforte, alla puntasecca.
