Arnaldo Pomodoro, Sans Titre, a 2013 abstract aquaforte and aquatinta limited edition print in 80 by 60 cm, signed by hand, in excellent condition, produced in Italy and sold by Galleria Grafica Manzoni.
Description from the seller
Arnaldo Pomodoro was born in Montefeltro in 1926; he spent his childhood and training in Pesaro. From 1954 he lives and works in Milan. His works of the Fifties are bas-reliefs where a very singular 'writing' emerges, unprecedented in sculpture, which is interpreted in various ways by the major critics. In the early sixties he addresses tridimensionality and develops research on the forms of solid geometry: spheres, discs, pyramids, cones, columns, cubes — in polished bronze — they are pierced, corroded, hollowed in their inner core, with the aim of breaking their perfection and discovering the mystery that lies within. The formal contrast between the smooth perfection of the geometric form and the chaotic complexity of the interior will from now on be a constant in Pomodoro's production.
An emblematic and very rare work by the master, the visual and technical quality employed for the piece are of exceptional level.
The number of the edition may not correspond to the number in the photograph.
The provenance of the work is from Galleria Grafica Manzoni, which issues its certificate of authenticity.
