Description from the seller

A unique and original canvas painting by artist Gino Giusti (Siena, 1937 – Siena, November 4, 2019) was an important Italian contemporary painter, among the most significant exponents of Siena’s figurative painting in the late twentieth century. In 1937, he graduated from the Art Institute “Duccio di Boninsegna” of Siena. He continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence in the Scenography course. At only 22 years old (1959) he held his first solo exhibition in Siena. In 1961 he founded the art gallery “L’Aminta,” one of the first spaces devoted to modern art in the city. In the 1960s he undertook numerous study trips across Europe (France, the Netherlands, Germany, England), which profoundly influenced his style.
