Description from the seller
A unique and original oil-on-canvas painting by the artist Gino Giusti (Siena, 1937 – Siena, November 4, 2019) was an important Italian contemporary painter, among the most significant exponents of Sienese figurative painting of the second half of the twentieth century. In 1937, he graduated from the Art Institute “Duccio di Boninsegna” in Siena. He continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence in the Scenography course. At only 22 years old (1959) he held his first solo exhibition in Siena. In 1961 he founded the art gallery “L’Aminta”, one of the first spaces dedicated to modern art in the city. In the 1960s he made numerous study trips in Europe (France, the Netherlands, Germany, England), which deeply influenced his style. In the 1970s he moved for a period to Rome, while always maintaining a strong bond with Siena and Tuscany.
