Description from the seller
“Spinach” is a still life created in the studio of photographer Ursula van de Bunte. It is a print on Ilford Galerie Prestige and mounted on 2 mm PVC. The image measures 20 × 25 cm and it is the third edition, limited to 12 copies.
“Spinach” is part of the series Plastic vegetables. In Van de Bunte’s still lifes, everyday objects take on a new role. They are detached from utility and use and appear as pure forms: still, present, almost vulnerable. Through the soft light, the restrained composition, and the attention to skin, texture, glass, and ceramics, a quiet world emerges in which time slows down. The photographer works with the latest Hasselblad equipment and creates her photography from a studio housed in a monumental building in the Hanseatic town of Kampen. Her work is shown in museums, galleries, and art fairs.
