Sculpture by XTC titled Mc Hermès full gold, in glass, plastic and metal, edition 3/20 (2026), measuring 27 × 15 × 15 cm, signed by hand and in excellent condition, originating from France with a glass dome integral to the work.
Description from the seller
Full-gold Mc Hermes cone by XTC.
A détournement (re-appropriation) of a McDonald’s cone, the crossing of luxury and mass consumption.
This is not a carton McDonald’s cone; everything was created from plastic materials and painted by XTC, with very bright faux gold diamonds!
The glass dome is an integral part of the piece.
Signed and numbered below 20, Certificate of Authenticity (COA) provided.
(The copy sent is not necessarily the one in the photo)
Careful, tracked shipping.
Born in 1978 in the heart of France, XTC has shaped his artistic universe through his interest in Design, Pop Art, and more recently Street Art. This visual pursuit has become a passion that needed to come to life.
XTC defines himself as a self-taught visual artist, aligned with the Pop Art movement, through the détournement of contemporary consumer goods.
His creativity expresses itself through the audacious staging of icons of popular consumption (such as McDonald’s, Malabar, Chupa), which he causes to collide with the world of luxury (including Chanel, Hermes, Veuve Clicquot champagne or caviar) and Street Art, further blurring the already tenuous boundaries between these worlds.
He expresses his art through sculpture, mixing painting with all kinds of resins, plastics, and sometimes minerals.
He draws inspiration, among others, from Banksy, Keith Haring, Orlinski, Andy Warhol, Obey, advertising, and addiction in general.
All eventual defects or imperfections are an integral part of the work.
