Description from the seller
ASTRAM - Sgt. PEPPER'S - BEATLES
The iconic cover of the Beatles' 1967 album is regarded by critics as their greatest work and one of the most influential albums in the history of popular music, ranking, among other things, at the top of the list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time.”
Recorded over a span of 129 days, it is the first rock album to win the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, and the cover received the Grammy in the Graphic Arts category.
The drum skin bearing the album title was painted by the sideshow artist Joe Ephgrave, who didn’t realize at the time he was creating one of the most emblematic works of pop art. In one corner, a Shirley Temple doll wearing a sweater bearing the words “Welcome The Rolling Stones” gave a discreet wink.
Ultimately, the Beatles embraced their own mythology while poking fun at it. That’s perhaps why it remains as relevant as ever.
The ASTRAM parody blends the 20 characters (excluding the Beatles) who appeared – or perhaps didn’t appear? – on this sleeve and playfully hides certain details, like a nod to the Flower Power era flourishing among one of the world’s best rock bands.
Keywords: Bob Dylan - Elvis Presley - Groucho Marx - Charlie Chaplin - Oscar Wilde - Buffalo Bill - Mae West - Alfred Hitchcock - Stuart Sutcliffe - Tyrone Power - Aldous Huxley - Sri Yukteswar Giri - Shirley Temple - Arthur Rimbaud - Winston Churchill - Albert Einstein - Stan Laurel - Marilyn Monroe - The Rolling Stones - Flower Power - Astram - Psychedelic Art - Stained glass - Hippies - Series - Pop Art - Beatles
ASTRAM is the pseudonym of the pop art artist Richard Saint-Amans, who produces works in which he imagines offbeat scenarios, inviting each viewer to interpret according to their own imagination. His passion for the pop and subsequent years is expressed in unique and refreshed creations.
His works, present in several galleries, are in the collections of numerous collectors around the world.
The colors are here fixed in the glass of this plate, embedded and protected from light and UV, to relive our best memories with a photo of optimal sharpness on a vibrant-colored acrylic glass.
Thanks to the lacquered finish, the image can express maximum expressiveness from any angle. A photo on acrylic glass looks like an art exhibit and gives each piece a refined aesthetic.
The hanging is concealed by your image and maintains a certain distance from the wall. In this way, your photo on acrylic glass seems to float freely on the wall and gives it an art-gallery style.
Acrylic Glass Plaque, on aluminum frame of museum-quality, glossy laminated finish
Ready to hang, invisible rear mounting in the frame
