Description from the seller
Eleonora Stol (1946–2022) was a Dutch artist best known for her expressive, colorful, and emotionally charged paintings and graphic works. She was born in Leiden and studied at the Vrije Academie in The Hague, and then for a long time worked from Amsterdam. Her artist name was also sometimes “La Roja,” referring to her preference for bold colors, with red as a recurring theme in her life and work.
Stol’s work is characterized by vibrant color use, dynamic forms, and an intuitive painting style in which passion, love, dance, and dream imagery play a major role. She often made use of mixed techniques, including acrylic, oil paint, and pencil, giving her works a rich, texture-rich appearance that directly engages emotion. Her art is described as lively, energetic, and full of movement, almost as if the canvases “breathe.”
Dimensions of the work: 180 x 140 cm
The work is on view in our gallery. Furthermore, Art Dumay also operates a framing shop (this year marking their 85th anniversary) and a restoration workshop. So if you would like to use these services, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
Shipping is possible. This will be arranged after purchase. For questions, please contact us.
