Description from the seller
Luca Alinari, Orgia Fantastica, 1996, mixed media (acrylic, oil, graphite, oil pastels) on canvas stretched on wooden panel, 153x50 cm, signature and year at center, dedication to a person ("to friend Giacomo - Vaiani Lisi, curator of the show in which it was exhibited - by Luca), on the back additional signature, inscription ("A seguitare") and drawing made in 2009 on the occasion of Alinari's visit to our Gallery, in which he revisited the work). Accompanied by the original frame (slight defects). Exhibitions: Prospettive d'Arte Contemporanea, 2015, Galleria d'Arte Piero Della Francesca, Arezzo (curated by Giacomo Vaiani Lisi). Excellent condition, no serious damage, no restoration, homogeneous patina due to time. Documentation: Authenticity of the artist on photograph, Certificate of Authenticity from the Galleria d'Arte Piero Della Francesca (in which a positive verbal opinion by his son Filippo Alinari is cited), Arezzo (one of Alinari's reference galleries, which organized one of his first solo exhibitions in 1974 and collaborated with the Master until his death), Photocopy of the publication, Photo of the Artist with Giacomo Vaiani Lisi (curator of the exhibition in which the work was shown).
Splendid, unique and unrepeatable work by Luca Alinari, depicting a very particular subject (an orgy, in a fantastical context that recalls his famous "fantastic landscapes", hence the title "fantastic orgy"), dimensions created specifically to be placed above the head of a bed, mixed media with magnificent colors. A work created by Luca Alinari for his friend and curator of the show in which it was exhibited, Giacomo Vaiani Lisi.

Biography:
Luca Alinari (Florence, 1943-2019) was among the most cultured and refined figures in the contemporary Italian art scene. His beginnings enjoyed incredible success, thanks to his early works inspired by New Dada poetry and Pop Art. In his 1970s works, ordinary objects were freely juxtaposed, with hints of conceptual and philosophical messages. Revolutionary were particularly the painting techniques used, among the most diverse. The fantastical atmospheres took precedence during the 1980s and found their definitive culmination with the Fantastic Landscapes. Throughout his career he exhibited worldwide, participating in international exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale and the Rome Quadrennial. Galleria d'Arte Piero Della Francesca was among the first galleries to sense Luca's absolute talent and hosted, in 1972, one of his first solo exhibitions. The collaboration with Luca, cemented by the fraternal friendship with Giacomo Vaiani Lisi, lasted until his death. His genius is evidenced by the wonderful works that have made him one of the most beloved masters of our time.
