Description from the seller
Accendino S.T. Dupont Maki-e
This Line 2 lighter is a true work of art, crafted using the centuries-old Japanese Maki-e technique: each piece is handmade with care by skilled artisans who apply precious gold and silver powder to bring the images to life with an elegance and depth like no other. To achieve this result, a craftsman spends about 12 hours to create each design on a lighter.
The artisans use several layers of gold powder in different sizes, creating very complex patterns. By adjusting the concentration and the different consistencies of the gold powder, they achieve a wide range of surprising effects, giving life to unique details.
Each piece of the maki-e collection is meticulously handmade by skilled artisans, using precious materials such as mother-of-pearl, gold powder and silver, making this collection truly unique in its own right.
Because of the complex artisanal workmanship, the production process takes a long time.
The Japanese artisans who create the decorations can produce only 30 pieces every two months, which underscores the rarity and exclusivity of this collection.
Exemplar no. 27, new item with box and warranty
