The Spirit of the Knight Folard (1760 Edition)
"The Spirit of the Knight Folard" is a work published in 1760 in Paris by the Compagnie des Libraires and in Lyon by Jean-Marie Bruyset. It is a compilation drawn from the comments of Jean-Charles de Folard (1669-1752), a French officer and military theorist, on Polybius’ History, the Greek historian of Antiquity.

The work is intended for the use of officers, to provide them with strategic and tactical teachings inspired by ancient military campaigns. It contains plans and figures to illustrate maneuvers and military concepts.
