Description from the seller
OPERA
“In the Moon’s Reflection” begins as an essential nocturnal landscape. The dark circle up top is a kind of black moon, suspended above a luminous surface. Below, the part built with marks does not occupy all the space, but descends like a reflection on the sea: just as when moonlight creates a stripe on the water and leaves the rest in darkness.
The black sign becomes the movement of the water: not a calm, uniform surface, but a vibration made of small reflections, interruptions and joints. The light part around gives the sense of emptiness and the silence of the night, while the central mass holds that reflected light, as if the sea returns only part of the moon.
I chose to leave a black acrylic border, deliberately visible, like an inner frame that contains the scene and reinforces its atmosphere.
(The signature is hidden inside the work ;)

ARTIST
I am Pietro Fight, Italian visual artist, born 1992, based in Milan. My research sits within symbolic abstraction, a strand of abstract art that developed mainly after the Second World War, where the sign becomes an autonomous visual language: it does not describe recognizable figures, but builds rhythm, density, tension and breath within the work. My practice arises from a gesture-writing made of circular modules and nets of signs, in which I seek balance between fills and empties, accumulation and suspension, intensity of the sign and zones of visual silence. I work on canvas with different techniques, layering sheens and markings to bring chromatic fields and black signs into dialogue; I am drawn to both a tight black-and-white, and the use of sharp color contrasts.
This language of mine was born in 2020, during the Covid period, when I transformed the boredom of daily routine into a process of repetition, rhythm and small variations. From that period also derives the signature “Corona,” a direct trace of that time (coronavirus). The sign I trace is instantaneous and records the mechanics of my mind: even when it appears serial, it varies according to mood and the inner “noise” of the moment. For this reason, even within a repeated grammar, every trace is different and every work remains unrepeatable.

There is an unpainted canvas margin to facilitate framing. One-of-a-kind original work, signed on the back, accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist (with customized stamp).
