Biography of Hoang Anh.
Born in 1984 in Thanh Hoa, Vietnam, resident and works in Hanoi
Originally from Thanh Hoa province, located about 150 km south of Hanoi, Hoang Anh belongs to the pivotal generation of Vietnamese artists (the “8x” generation) who combine cultural heritage and contemporary abstraction. A graduate of the Vietnam University of Fine Arts, he has established himself on Hanoi’s art scene with a bold approach to matter and color.

Style and Artistic Approach
Hoang Anh’s work is defined by an intense exploration of texture and movement. Although he explores varied themes such as landscapes, nature, and the female figure, it is in abstraction that he reveals his full expressive power:
• The energy of gesture: A proponent of oil and acrylic painting, he frequently uses the palette knife to apply color in vigorous horizontal strokes. This gesture creates a nearly musical rhythm on the canvas.
